MNTRH at 2nd National Mental Health Conference 2025.

Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital is proud to participate in the 2nd National Mental Health Conference 2025, officially opened by Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale at a leading hotel in Nairobi.
Held under the theme “Securing the Future: A Holistic Approach to Mental Health for Generations,” this three-day forum brings together stakeholders from government, academia, and civil society to advance mental well-being for all Kenyans across every stage of life.
A key moment was the visit to our booth by the Cabinet Secretary and Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Dr. Ouma Oluga, which facilitated valuable discussions on innovative mental health care. During his address, the Principal Secretary commended Mathari's significant achievement in establishing a state-of-the-art Telemental Health Center, designed to deliver essential mental health services to underserved communities nationwide.Building on the success of last year's conference, we are advocating for increased investment, disseminating evidence-based interventions, and developing a strategic roadmap in alignment with Kenya's Universal Health Coverage (UHC) initiative.
Mental health is a fundamental human right, and Mathari remains committed to ensuring it is accessible, affordable, and seamlessly integrated into comprehensive essential healthcare services for all.
